This past Wednesday, I had the privilege of going to see Donald Trump at Tim Scott’s Town Hall. I have written positively about Trump in the past (here, here, and here), but I was so impressed by his performance Wednesday that I have decided to revisit The Donald.
First off, Trump may well be the best thing to ever happen to the Teenage Republicans. More young people are getting interested and involved in this election, and I believe that this is a direct result of Mr. Trump.
Second, Trump demonstrated both a passion for America and a strong command of the issues. Many in the media have accused Mr. Trump of lacking specifics and policy details. I would argue that Trump easily demonstrated a much greater command of the issues than other candidates such as Ben Carson and Rand Paul (Both of whom seem to have been given a pass by most media outlets).
I was also impressed by the quality of Mr. Trump’s staff. Jeff Taillon and Gerri McDaniel are both very talented operatives, and Ed McMullen is widely respected throughout the state.
Yes, my endorsement of Rick Santorum still stands, but if for some reason that campaign were to implode before the SC Primary, Donald Trump may well receive my endorsement.
